A Quick tour of Kerala and Tamil Nadu

It has been a long time that i have posted some thing. I dint find some thing interesting to post. This time around i took a good gap from work and went around some of the places which i had visited a good 16 years back. I went to varkala, trivandrum, sankarankoil, tiruchendur, karsoornamangalam, chevval and my grannys home at nanalkad. Most of the places except the first two belong to the tirunelveli district of tamilnadu state.
This time around i found lot of development in the roads, there has been a considerable amount of money that has been spent in the development of these physical communication routes.
The temple at varkala, still gives me the same peace that i found when i went 16 years back, there has been considerable improvement in the infrastructure there. There is a decent hotel opposite to the railway station. However you will not find anything to eat after 8:00 pm even today. The people find the difference between hotel and lodge. I reached there around 8:30 pm, it was raining heavily and it gave a glimpse to my wife of how heavily it rains in Kerala. It took us as herculean task to just cross the road to get into the hotel. The manager wasnt present, but on sending a message via the chowkidar we were able to get him, also we booked the hotel then. It was a stormy night with the power also going out. We were tired after a long and tiresome journey. We just fell on the bed and we went into the deep slumber. The next morning was good bright with sunshine, my mother also arrived. We took bath and started for the temple, took a auto-rickshaw for which the price was 50 bucks, he dropped just near the temple steps adjacent to the chakra teertham the pond which never dries, and as per mythology the place where the lord vishnus chakra had fell.
We went via the so called kokurni padi, the steps are still the old steep ones, we went into the temple, lot of things have changed, the devaswam board has arranged lots of prasadam and lot of activities going on. As we entered into the sanctum sanctorum, i was getting memories of my first visit with my Dad. As soon as i saw the swamy (Janardhana), all the tiredness which we had vanished and lot of peace was restored back in me. I prayed there for a considerable amount of time. Then after circumberating the sanctum sanctorum, enquried about the "Thulabharam", i spontaneously did the "Thulabharam" to my wife with the offering of "Banana's" to the lord of the weight equal to the weight of my wife. It gave me a satisfaction that after a long time there was a pending due which i had to give it to the lord. Once all these activites were over, i took all the family members including my inlaws and mom to the "Papanaasam" beach, my wife was in awe after looking at the beach. She was very happy, and said to me why dont we visit every year to this place i just smiled and hoped we can come back to this mystic place every year.

I hope the place still remains the same as it is now. After a breif stay at the beach we came back to the hotel, had some thing to eat and thea caravan moved to the next mystic destination of Trivandrum.

I shall post the details of that visit in my next blog....

Till then happy reading and request all to pray to the Lord"Janardhana", he who shall free you from all problems.
Best Wishes......
